Alert Framework - RedAlert

This app has been archived. Learn more about app archiving.
This app is NOT supported by Splunk. Please read about what that means for you here.
Overview
RedAlert extends the alerting capabilities of Splunk by providing a simplified and comprehensive configuration interface for alert actions. In essence, RedAlert is like a Tag Management solution for alerts, giving your alert actions easy access to fields, search results, and alert arguments. Searches come to life and become actionable as their alerts issue shell commands and REST searches in response to events in the infrastructure. Alert Actions become auditable, with monitoring and logging of performance details, execution status, and errors. Use RedAlert to automatically file incidents with your CMDB, restart broken applications, lockdown ACLs in response to threats, or page you, all at the click of a button... or two...

Release Notes

Version 6.0.3
June 23, 2014

Included a fix to Envoy that corrects a parsing issue when using $_<args> that include a pipe character. Special thanks to James Brodsky for identifying and resolving this.

Version 6.0.2
March 2, 2014

KNOWN ISSUE: RedAlert should be installed on a Search Head that does not have the VMware app installed. The in-UI editor may behave oddly, if both apps are installed on the same Search Head.
