Overview
Details
To provide the best experience for Splunk users who want to monitor their infrastructure, Splunk is refocusing engineering efforts on our IT Essentials Work and IT Service Intelligence offerings. As a result, we will End Of Sale Splunk App for Infrastructure on April 30, 2021 and End of Life on August 14, 2022 .

We highly recommend that customers either purchase IT Service Intelligence and utilize the Content Library and Content Packs for pre-built service-level dashboards and KPIs, or use the latest version of Splunk IT Essentials Work 4.9 (available May 2021) to monitor host level data. For more details on this announcement and migration options, please refer to our blog post and contact your sales representative with any questions.


The Splunk App for Infrastructure provides a seamless experience for infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting. By unifying and correlating logs and metrics, Splunk App for Infrastructure gives system administrators and site reliability engineers a unified approach to monitoring. Splunk App for Infrastructure is designed specifically for infrastructure monitoring use cases, and is designed to deploy quickly and provide intelligent investigations into infrastructure problems.

Version 2.2.5 requires the Splunk Add-on for Infrastructure to be installed on Splunk Indexers.

IMPORTANT: Splunk App for Infrastructure 2.2.5 is compatible with Splunk Add-on for Infrastructure 2.2.5

Splunk App for Infrastructure is now compatible with Splunk Enterprise 7.1.0 and later in standalone and distributed Splunk environments.

Note: there is a known issue in Splunk Enterprise 7.1.0 where Windows and Linux metrics are incompatible when stored in the same index. Users on Enterprise 7.1.0 are advised to use separate indexes for Windows and Linux metrics or upgrade to 7.2.0 where the issue has been resolved.
