Now to have some filler here. I could regale you with tales of the recent past, or perhaps with tales from ages long gone by. Perhaps I will tell you the story of how my wife and daughter both were surprised at the new Amazon show about the Rings of Power, "I didn't realize that Galadriel was such a badass." So I got to fill them in a bit with her history. Because they had never read the Silmarillion or other texts, they had more or less decided that Galadriel and Elrond were similarly powerful, old, wise, etc... and while absolutely I wouldn't want to case aspersions on Elrond, he's just a young pup compared to Galadriel. Galadriel was there before the First Age began. Elrond is half-human, well technically he has even more mixed ancestry than that and is related to all sorts of people including Melian the Maia. But in any case, while he's pretty powerful, I think just from a age/wisdom thing, Galadriel is like twice as old as he is at a very minimum. (Some lengths of time before the first age started are a little ... nebulous.)
