Faup stands for 'Finally An URL Parser' and is able to normalize urls to extract TLDs, domains, subdomains etc. without the known issues encountered with a regex.
To extract level > 1 TLDs, Faup goes against the list provided by Mozilla, so exceptions like bl.uk are respected. The domain www.example.co.uk will extract 'co.uk', while www.example.bl.uk will extract 'uk'.
